Hi everyone and welcome to my first-ever website as an author. Not only is this my first website but it is the first time I have created any website from scratch. Sure, I have spent over two decades posting articles, photos, and even photo galleries on the websites of the news media companies I have worked for as a reporter, but nothing prepared me for the learning curve I would be experiencing as I set about creating this website.

I chose WordPress.com as the site I am using for the simple fact that it is not WordPress.org. Yes, there are major differences. While many authors and others love the freedom that WordPress.org provides to them since you can create and host everything yourself, I needed the block editor, hosting services, and no need for learning any type of coding to be able to finally get this one up and running. And, it still needs some work but I’m getting there.

My newsletter sign-up process is being done through MailerLite. It has been a pretty easy process, although I cannot figure out why it gives you a sign-up success message right after you hit the submit button when you, in fact, have to check your email inbox (or possibly spam box) for the confirmation email. Once you confirm your subscription, then you will be on my list of subscribers. But don’t worry, I will never bombard you with a bunch of useless emails. I hate that and I am sure most of you do too.

My newsletter will only be sent to you once a month on the first of each month, except for December’s edition, for obvious reasons. I am planning to send out the first one on December 12. Each newsletter will contain updates on my books, products, and other fun things as well as recipes, writing tips and tricks, freelance writing markets, recommendations for books by other authors, and much more! Once you are on the list, you will occasionally receive an update on a book or product that is launching but other than that, I will not be filling up your inbox.

Fun fact: Everyone who signs up for the newsletter by Dec. 31 will be entered into a drawing for exciting prizes, including signed copies of my book, Never Break the Chain, and a $25 Amazon gift card. The drawing will take place on New Year’s Day and winners will then be notified!
